Our Story
Makhana, or fox nut, has fed Indian families for centuries. It grows in the wetlands of Bihar, is harvested by hand from the pond bed and popped over fire. Naturally gluten free, a source of protein and seriously crunchy, it is almost the perfect snack.
Almost. For too long makhana sat between two extremes: bland health food jars or over flavoured tins. And most of it changed hands three or four times before reaching you, with the farmer earning the least.
So we did it differently. We grow our makhana on our own farms in Katihar, harvest it with local farming families, and pop, grade, roast and season it in our own plant a short drive away. No middlemen, no outside sourcing. The result: five flavours and a raw range that do justice to what's inside the pack.
