2. The Makosee Quality Promise

1. Roasted, never deep fried. Popped makhana is roasted in small batches with a little olive oil. Never dunked in palm oil or hydrogenated fat.

2. Grown on our own farms. Every seed comes from our own farms in Katihar, Bihar, harvested by local farming families. No outside sourcing.

3. Graded for size and pop. Seeds are sorted so only well popped, evenly sized makhana goes into our packs.

4. Seasoned in house. Flavours are applied at our Katihar plant using our own recipes.

5. NABL lab tested. Nutrition values on every pack come from NABL accredited laboratory reports.

3. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) & HACCP Principles

Our Katihar plant follows Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP principles in line with Schedule 4 of the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulations, 2011. This covers hygiene protocols for every person on the floor, food grade contact surfaces, and nitrogen flushed, multi layer pouches that keep makhana crisp without added preservatives.

1. Naturally gluten free. Makhana is a naturally gluten free seed.

2. Plant based: Black Salt, Chatpata Pudina and Achari Masala contain no milk or animal ingredients.

3. Contains milk and peanut: Himalayan Salt (milk solids, peanut protein) and Butter Tomato (butter, roasted peanut powder). Declared on the pack.

4. Contains mustard: Achari Masala.

5. Facility advisory: All flavours are made in a facility that also handles milk and peanut. Always check the pack before eating if you have an allergy.

Nutrition statements on this website, such as "Source of Protein", "High in Fibre" and "Zero Trans Fat", are based on NABL accredited laboratory reports for each flavour.
